On Tuesday, the 11th of June some members of our group and 16 students of the course of study: „Materialdesign – Bionik und Photonik“ visited the production plants of BASF in Ludwigshafen. The excursion was made within the scope of the lecture “Kunststofftechnik” of Sabine Fuchs and implied a stop at the steam cracker as well as the polymer compounding and production. The site visit of such a large company enabled the students of an insight into daily production routine and the big dimensions of production facilities inside the BASF. We have learned a lot and enjoyed the trip. Big thanks to the BASF and all staff members who made this insight possible.
